Hostile Design in Calgary - An ongoing Map

Wednesday, 10 July 2019
"Let me be perfectly clear. There is nothing "defensive" about stopping a homeless person from sleeping or seeking shelter. It is 'relocating the population through urban design.' It is violent, and it is hostile design."
- Nigel Kirk
Inspired by the #DefensiveTO movement to identify hostile design samples in Toronto, I have begun doing so for Calgary. The map is currently small, but I will be adding to it as I continue to find more. If you see hostile design in Calgary, please tweet me a location and photo (with appropriate credit if necessary). MapHubs still doesn't have collaborative maps yet, so I'll update to make contributions public once that has been arranged.
